Avaliação da buprenorfina pelas vias intravenosa ou intramuscular em cães anestesiados pelo desfluorano

Abstract: correspondência. ABSTRACT The aim of this study was to evaluate comparatively the effects of buprenorphine administered intramuscularly or intravenously on cardiovascular variables in dogs anesthetized with desflurane. Sixteen adult health… Show more

“…A depressão respiratória, passível de ocorrer em algumas situações, pode ser revertida com o uso de antagonistas opióides, como o naloxone (THURMON et al, 1996). Quanto a via de administração, a buprenorfina pode vir a ser utilizada pelas vias intravenosa (IV) ou intramuscular (IM), pois as variações clínicas observadas são consideradas mínimas (SOUZA et al, 2004).…”

“…The phenotiazínics have been recommended as antiarrhythmogenic producers 18 41, 42 , however, in this work, an atrioventricular block (AVB) occurred when the intravenous continuous infusion was undertaken but at a lower level by the change of xylazine for medetomidine. Soon after anesthetic premedication, a slight reduction in systolic arterial pressure (SAP), medial arterial pressure (MAP) and diastolic arterial pressure (DAP) was obtained in both groups, assumed as buprenorphine effects following the intravenous or intramuscular injection in dogs 43,44, besides a slight hypotension 24 . Nevertheless, all the values remained within the physiological limits, 100 to 160 mmHg, 80 to 120 mmHg and 60 to 100 mmHg, respectively, in both groups, at all moments.…”

“…The jugular vein was then isolated and catheterized with a Swan-Ganz catheter (Cateter Swan-Ganz Pediátrico, mod. 132-5f, 4 vias Edwards Lifesciences LLC, Irvine, CA, EUA), whose end was positioned inside the lumen of the pulmonary artery; this was confirmed by observation of pressure waves, according to the technique described by Swan-Ganz and cited by Souza et al (2004). The inner side of the left thigh was shaved for transcutaneous catheterization of the femoral artery where a pressure transducer was connected and attached to a multiparameter monitor to measure blood pressure.…”

“…For measurement of the cardiac output (CO), necessary for calculation of the cardiac index [CO divided by body surface area (BSA) in m 2 ], we used a microprocessor device for direct measurement of CO through the thermodilution technique (SOUZA et al, 2004). The Average Blood Pressure was measured by direct reading, in mmHg, using a multi-parameter monitor whose transducer was connected to the catheter inserted in the left femoral artery and positioned at the heart level as "zero reference" for calibration.…”
