“…reported earlier.Various plant growth-promoting bacilli mediating plant growth, soil biological process, nutrientmobilization and biocontrol action have been reported globally (Cherif-Silini et al 2016; Kumar et l. 2014, Mehmood et al 2021; Sun and Zhang 2021; Zafar-ul-Hye et al 2019) but role of sole IAA producing bacilli with a few other PGP traits on crop is fragmentary. The bacilli comprising Paenibacillus, Brevibacillus, Virgibacillus, Lysinibacillus, Geobacillus, Virgibacillus and Virdibacillus are found to be ubiquitous in nature and possess multiple growth-promoting traits (Saxena et al 2020; Tiwari et al 2019).Approximately 95% of bacterial species in the rhizosphere and endorhizosphere are Bacillus species with the ability to promote plant growth and produce antimicrobial metabolites for the biocontrol of pathogens(Maplestone and Campbell 1989;Nambirajan et al 2020). In plants, root exudates of various plants contain tryptophan, which is used by microorganisms as a metabolic precursor for the synthesis and release of auxins as secondary metabolites in the rhizosphere and can in uence root growth(Kravchenko et al 2004).…”
