Back to the Future: Entrepreneurial Education in a Brave New World

Abstract

It is becoming increasingly apparent that we need to reimagine our approach to entrepreneurial education to meet the needs of Industry 5.0. This reflection piece discusses some of the challenges with entrepreneurial education and advocates pivoting towards a user-centred, design-oriented approach that adopts a real-world perspective and is supported by digital tools. However, we acknowledge that educators must be equipped with relevant user-centred processes, methods and tools to do this. We conclude by presenting initial findings from the DeThink which seeks to design, develop and validate an entrepreneurial programme for educators that is supported by a digital toolkit. This open-source resource adopts a pragmatic perspective and focuses on equipping educators with the methods, templates and tools to easily absorb and apply good practices.
