“…Furthermore, patterns observed in this study are very similar to those reported in previous studies, which bacterial communities were dominated by Proteobacteria (46.3%), followed by Bacteroidetes, Epsilonbacteraeota, Actinobacteria, Patescibacteria, Planctomycetes, Firmicutes, Verrucomicrobia, Chloroflexi and Acidobacteria, accounting more than 93% of bacterial diversity. Such phyla are regarded as typical freshwater bacteria and are commonly found in large/urban rivers around the world (e.g., De Oliveira & Margis, 2015;Read et al, 2015;Adhikari et al, 2019). Chen et al (2018) and Hou et al (2019) investigated the bacterial communities in riparian sediments and found that Proteobacteria, Firmicutes, Bacteroidetes, Acidobacteria, Actinobacteria, Chloroflexi, Verrucomicrobia, and Planctomycetes were predominant, comprising of the ranged of 85% to 93% of the total sequence data along a large-scale longitudinal gradient.…”
