Summary
A report is presented of 27 cases of postabortal and postpartum tetanus seen at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital between 1963 and 1967. Twenty‐two of them were associated with abortion and carried a mortality of 50 per cent while one out of 5 postpartum cases died. Uterine tetanus appears to be more severe than other forms and carries a distinctly higher mortality. A reason for this is suggested.
