“…In this study, the prevalence of uropathogens accounted for 68(34.0%) among pregnant women. This observation were in tandem with the earlier studies where a prevalence rate of 37.3%, 38.6%, 35.5%, 38% and 40.0% were reported in India, Lagos, Algeria, Niger Delta and Jos [16,17,18,19] but disagree with earlier report which accounted for 45.7, 53.8, 65.4%, 79.9%, 90.1% and 97.3% [20,21,22,23,24]. The different in prevalence rates reported may be due to factors like number of sample and duration of study, deployment of diverse methodologies, sexual intercourse, studied group influence, low socio-economic status among Nigerian Women.…”
