Ball milling: a green mechanochemical approach for synthesis of Ni (II), Co (II) and Cu (II) complexes

Abstract: A series of Ni (II), Co (II) and Cu (II) complexes were synthesized with excellent yields via a one‐pot ball milling chelation reaction of those metals and β‐diketone. The process offers numerous advantages, such as better yield, short reaction time and mild reaction conditions. The computational studying was estimated to approve the geometry of the isolated solid compounds by applying density functional theory. The synthesized compounds were interpreted by using various spectroscopic techniques [infrared (IR)… Show more

“…It is interesting to build a relation between structuralfeature with its biological-behavior. [3] It is known that, the ability of compound to penetrate the cellmembrane as well as its lipophilic capacity, is a great challenge in biological efficiency. The lipophilic characteristic facilitates interaction with biological systems, which lead to block active sites that inhibits the cell reproduction.…”

“…3,4 In mechanochemistry, reactions between solids are promoted by the application of mechanical energy, and reactions that often are unfavourable or inaccessible in solutions can be readily performed. 5 The increasing momentum gained by the mechanochemical field is illustrated by its current widespread use in the development of new reaction methodologies, 6,7 synthesis of organometallic complexes, 8,9 main group compounds, 10 metal organic frameworks, 11 alloys, 12 composite materials, 13,14 and cocrystals. 15 .…”
