Banking system resilience: an empirical appraisal

Abstract: Purpose The purpose of this paper is to empirically appraise the health of banking systems by applying a new theoretical framework based on resilience and stability simultaneously. In line with complex system theories, the authors will consider the dynamics of the banking system as a whole, analysing not only banks individually but also the broad environment in which they operate. For doing so, the authors propose a composite indicator (CI) for analysing the resilience and stability of banking systems of devel… Show more

“…This indicator does not predict the future behavior of banks but uses it as a tool to assess the overall health of the most important banking system. Taking into account the review of the previous literature, they designed a theoretical framework of flexibility and stability [ 3 ]. Trahay F. et al proposed a data prefetching program, which is mainly for cloud computing dispersed file system.…”

“…The results of the interlevel analysis of the financial stability of banking systems only partially coincide with the results of studies conducted by other scholars (Radulescu et al, 2017;Ruza et al, 2019). This is due to the fact that the proposed algorithm for calculating IPRg, IPRc, and IPR indicators is based on data for 126 countries.…”
