This study measured consumers’ perspectives and behaviors with respect to corporate social responsibility (CSR). Specifically, we explored the components of CSR, including CSR aimed towards the environment, society, customers, employees, suppliers, and shareholders. We also examined the impact of CSR practices on brand attitude and purchase intention. The study surveyed 616 consumers across three locations, with detailed questionnaires in four languages. A total of 564 samples (186 from Vietnam, 189 from Indonesia, and 189 from Taiwan) qualified for data analysis. Additionally, statistics software including LISREL 8.8, STATISTICA 10, and MINITAB 19 were utilized to evaluate our hypotheses and construct a structural model. The results indicated that the consumers across the three areas were not concerned about CSR aimed towards shareholders, while all consumers considered CSR aimed towards themselves. Vietnamese customers prioritized a company’s care for its employees, while both Indonesian and Taiwanese consumers concentrated on the environment and society. In addition, suppliers’ benefits and rights attracted Indonesians’ attention. Furthermore, CSR had a positive significant impact on brand reputation in all three cultures. However, while CSR had a positive influence on customer purchase intention in Indonesia and Taiwan, it did not in Vietnam.

The objective of the argument in this paper is to attempt at answering the question whether learning and knowledge exchange are the key factors determining online work preferences for Generation Z employees. Design/methodology/approach: The essence of knowledge management is that all knowledge, both explicit and tacit, accumulated by an organization becomes easily accessible to each of its members. This is important for decision-making processes and allows the organization to become more agile. Knowledge management is most often associated with modern information technologies. Thanks to them, streams of various data can be processed and analyzed in many different ways. However, in the literature there is an increasingly common attitude that more attention should be paid not only to the technological but also to the human aspect of knowledge management. The processes of knowledge exchange among employees have been subject to extensive research and studies, yet the recent years have added another thread to the discussion about the matter, i.e. a significant proportion of employees switching to the online work model. Based on the findings of the studies conducted on a group of employees representing Generation Z, the Principal Component Analysis (PCA) technique was applied to organize the factors with the highest relevance for the respondents in online work. Findings: PCA demonstrated that the components recognized as most important were those relating to knowledge transfer and their impact on employee efficiency, and on the other hand employee relations as a factor that supports the learning processes. Research limitations/implications: In order to dwell upon the underlying causes of this situation, it should be recommended to proceed with further in-depth qualitative research. Practical implications: What the research communicates to the organization is that although Generation Z members are aware of the significance of the knowledge transfer and learning processes and they understand the role of peer relations in these processes, they are unable to overcome the social barriers created by the online working system due to lack of appropriate skills. Originality/value: The paper reveals new aspects that play crucial role in shaping Generation Z attitude to online work from one side. On the other hand it also helps to design synthetic tool researching this area in the future.

Additive manufacturing is making it possible to increase the complexity of designed mechanical structures. However, the variability inherent to this manufacturing process can influence significantly the performance of structural elements, specially in phononic crystals and metamaterials since their working principles relies on the repetition of identical cells with a dedicated designed geometry. In this work, first, a design of experiments approach is applied to a determine a sampling strategy in order to characterize an additive manufacturing machine.Then, mechanical properties of the samples are inferred using material properties measured with an ultrasound transducer. The material density was measured using the weight of the samples, both dry and immersed in water, using the buoyancy force expression. It is known that 2 Luiz H. M. S. Ribeiro et al. the elastic modulus measured via ultrasound is biased. Therefore, the distributions inferred using ultrasound measurements were updated using experimental forced responses of sample rods and dynamic models via the Spectral Element Model. Updated values are used in statistical regression modeling to infer the stochastic field over print are of the 3D printer. The presented work is a first step in the longer term research goal: to show how to model the overall variability of a given additive manufacturing process, which is usually obtained in the statistical process control, and explain how to use it in the design of robust phononic crystal and metamaterial designs. The printing direction presented a statistically significant relationship with the elastic modulus and with the mass density, while only the printing direction presented a statistically significant relationship for the shear modulus.
