Abstract:The influence of venous occlusion on plasmatic coagulation, on platelets, and on fibrinolysis was examined. After occlusion, activated factors XI and X could be demonstrated. Simultaneously, platelet aggregation induced by both collagen and epinephrine was increased. Fibrinolysis was found to be moderately enhanced. In patients taking acetylsalicylic acid (ASA), platelet functions were not altered by occlusion but the activation of plasmatic clotting factors was not influenced. Low dose heparin inhibited plasm… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
