Behavior of Flow of Channel Network of Dadahup Swampy Irrigation Area

Abstract: Dadahup is a swampy irrigation area that belongs to the Indonesian national development program, namely the food estate project. The food estate project is a revitalization program for the former peatland development to increase national food security. Peatlands located in lowlands (less than +2.00 m above mean sea level) were a significant problem in their land development activities; besides, the land is generally infertile. The peatland development has been discontinuing, and farmers shifted the jobs to ano… Show more

“…In comparison, ground elevation ranges between +1.12 m to 1.74 m. It turned out that the water level of the entire channel in Blok A5 Kanan is below the ground elevation. It is the same as the previous study in Blok A5 Kanan, where the tertiary channel's water level is below the ground elevation, which is the water level of the channel was descended to +0.48 m in the dry season while the ground elevation ranged from +1.00 m to + 1.30 m [21]. In addition, in another previous study, the secondary channel's water level ranged from +0.06 m to +0.77 m while the ground elevation was at +0.8 m, so the secondary channel's water level was below the ground elevation in the dry season [15].…”

“…The water quality in the Dadahup tertiary plot is quite low, as it is dominated by shallow pyrite depths that contain acid (Das, 2015). One of the initiatives carried out by the UGM Research Team is the installation of a telemetry monitoring tool that aims to observe changes in water dynamics, both in quantity and quality (Arif et al, 2022).…”
