Abstract:The behavior of radioaerosols formed by condensation of supersaturated 137 Cs 131 I and/or 137 CsOH vapor in an electrostatic field was studied. Supersaturated 137 Cs 131 I and/or 137 CsOH vapor was generated by evaporation of salt crystals from a metal surface heated to high temperatures owing to ohmic resistance. By applying additional potential to the aerosol generator, it is possible to control the behavior of 137 Cs 131 I, 137 CsOH, or 137 Cs 131 I + 137 CsOH aerosols in an electrostatic field.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
