Behavioral manipulation—key to the successful global spread of the new coronavirus SARS‐CoV‐2?

Abstract: Human‐ SARS‐CoV‐2 interaction can have an array of various outcomes – it could be mortal, morbid or merely carrying minor health consequences. The very rapid global spread has raised the issue whether there are further multi‐dimensional consequences of SARS‐CoV‐2 infection on human behaviour, the key of its transmission. During the coronavirus crisis, odd, abnormal, and irresponsible behaviour has been reported in COVID‐19 individuals, particularly in super‐spreaders, i.e. persons with a high viral load, thus … Show more

In particular, we find articles discussing epidemic modeling efforts [28] , [265] , [289] , [290] , [291] , [292] , [293] , analyzing knowns and unknowns of transmission dynamics [294] , [295] , [296] , [297] , [298] , presenting opportunities to model and control the spreading of COVID-19 enabled by novel data streams such as mobile phone data [29] , and discussing the challenges in estimation [258] .…”

“…In a matter of few days, the daily reported zero COVID-19 cases shoot up to two-digit figures and the number of active cases increased. Indeed, COVID-19 is currently being exacerbated worldwide by irresponsible behaviour at all ages, and adolescents with their propensity to party are major culprits [20][21][22].…”
