While the incidence o f glomeru lar disease in obesity is not known, proteinuria has been reported in up to 41 % o f obese patients [7], In addition, there are case reports o f the nephrotic syndrome occur ring in association with a glomerular lesion resembling focal sclerosis [8], Patients with massive obesity might therefore provide an opportunity to assess the relation ship between increased filtration and glomerular damage in man.…”
