The data were analysed via the SPSS for Windows 23.0 programme. Oneway analysis of variance (ANOVA) and two-way analysis of variance tests were used in the analysis of the data. Scheffe, a post-hoc analysis test, was used to determine the source of significant interactions among the groups. According to the findings, 43.87% of the faculty participating in the study had stagnation in their career. Having a child was an important factor in the family-related reasons of stagnation, while tenure issues (problems) was the most important factor originating from the organization. The results indicate that the participants who have suffered from stagnation mostly experience this problem at the post-doctorate level. It was found that the opinions of the academic staff about the stagnation varied significantly according to the variables of gender, marital status, age, title, length of experience in the current organization, and length of experience in the same position.
