“…However, attempts with aliphatic aldehydes or acyclic secondary amines did not yield significant amounts of propargylamine, which might be due to the relatively less stability of the iminium ion generated in situ from the aliphatic aldehydes or acyclic secondary amines, under the applied reaction conditions of the present protocol. Finally, switching from phenylacetylene to the aliphatic alkyne 1-octyne (23)(24)(25)(26)(27)(28)(29)(30) showcased successful product production, with yields ranging from 93 % to 80 %.…”

“…[16] Recently, we became interested to design and study the electronic and chelating effect of several benzotriazole-based N-enriched ligands in their transition metal complexes. [19][20][26][27][28][29] Inspired by these studies, we rationally employed benzotriazole-appended N,N-bidentate and N,N,N-tridentate suitable chelating ligands for ready access and effective utilization of air-stable, structurally well-defined and discrete Cu(II) complexes as precatalysts for A 3 coupling reactions (Figure 1, B-C). [18][19][20] The results showed that the multidentate chelate binding of these ligands to the Cu centre facilitated the catalytic processes, most probably via efficient stereo-electronic effect exerted to the catalytically active low-valent Cu(I) centre.…”
