Berliner-Becken: A New Developed Secondary Clarifier with a Vertical Flow

Abstract: The two wastewater treatment plants of the western part of Berlin must be extended for which only little space is left. Therefore new space-saving secondary clarifiers, the Berliner-Becken, have been developed. The efficiency is comparable to the Dortmund tanks but they only take up about 55% of the space.
