Abstract:The contractile behaviour of the smooth muscle of coronary vessels was studied in the cow and in the horse after different kinds of stimulus. The findings obtained with bovine vessels as well as the differences between cow and horse vessels are attributed to the existence of vasoactive substances in the vessels of the cow and their lack in those of the horse.
