“…While soldiers in the armed forces are often studied for post-traumatic stress disorder, little is known about the extent to which soldiers experience homesickness during their service (Niziurski and Berntsen, 2018). Unlike civilian counterparts, defense personnel faces adverse physical and social working conditions such as extreme weather, challenging terrain, deployed in remote and isolated places, which intensify their homesick symptoms (Narang et al , 2016) and make them psychologically vulnerable.
