Abstract: Die Pyreno-pyrene stehen auch den sog. , , R y l e n e n " nahe. Die Reihe der Rylene entsteht durch peri-Verknupfung von Naphthalin-Molekulen. Das erste seit langem bekannte Glied ist das Perylen. Die nachsthoheren Glieder sind erst kiirzlich nach vielen vergeblichen Versuchen synthetisiert worden: das Terrylen (LV11)53),~nd das Quaterrylen (LVI I I)53,54).Wie ersichtlich leitet sich das Pyreno-pyren LV in der gleichen Weise vom Terrylen (LVII) a b wie 1.12-Benzoperylen vom Perylen.
