Beta-Beams

Abstract: Abstract. Beta-beams is a new concept for the production of intense and pure neutrino beams. It is at the basis of a proposed neutrino facility, whose main goal is to explore the possible existence of CP violation in the lepton sector. Here we briefly review the original scenario and the low energy beta-beam. This option would offer a unique opportunity to perform neutrino interaction studies of interest for particle physics, astrophysics and nuclear physics. Other proposed scenarios for the search of CP viola… Show more

“…The idea of reconstructing the unitary triangle in the lepton sector has been later on studied in [7][8][9][10][11][12][13]. a e-mail: pouya_bakhti@ipm.ir b e-mail: yasaman@theory.ipm.ac.ir Recently, beta beam facilities producing ν e orν e beams from the decay of relativistic ions [14][15][16][17][18][19][20][21] have been proposed and studied as an alternative machine to establish CPviolation in the neutrino sector. Most studies were, however, performed before the measurement of θ 13 , with a focus on the CP-discovery reach for values of θ 13 much smaller than the measured one [22].…”
