Beyond Novelty Detection: Incongruent Events, When General and Specific Classifiers Disagree

Abstract: Unexpected stimuli are a challenge to any machine learning algorithm. Here, we identify distinct types of unexpected events when general-level and specific-level classifiers give conflicting predictions.
