Bheri-A Unique Example of Biological Complex System

Abstract: Problem statement:This study is a unique attempt to characterize Bheri (shallow flat bottom waste water fed fishery) as a complex biological system. Approach: The characterization was done both at the qualitative and the quantitative levels. The diverse microbial community and the associated emergent behaviors resulting in integrated resource recovery by the Bheris were analyzed under the lens of complexity to gain an understanding about the qualitative features. To carry out quantitative characterization, ide… Show more

“…Bioremediation by bacteria has been well reported since it's both cost effective and efficient in terms of acclimation time (Nasipuri et al, 2010;Adeyemi, 2009;Mukherjee et al, 2010;Olajide and Ogbeifun, 2010). The results clearly depicts that bioremediation of soluble sulfate can be done with this novel consortium.…”

“…The development of a semi-industrial multi fruit dryer system using simultaneous intelligent control was studied in (Javanmard et al, 2010). The study in (Mukherjee et al, 2010) proposed a unique studied attempt to characterize and model Bheri (shallow flat bottom waste water fed fishery) as a complex biological system. The research in (Youssef and Peng, 2010) proposed a method that could deal with fault-tolerant control system by using the decentralized control theory.…”
