“…Titian Ramsay Peale II (1799–1885) was born to Charles W. Peale in the same year that his older brother of that name died. In 1817 he was already drawing illustrations for Say's Entomology , and he served as Say's assistant on this trip (Poesch 1961:20–22, 1974, Porter 1983, 1985, Harmond 1997, Thomas 1999). Later, Say regretted that they had gone in winter rather than spring, when they would have seen more insects.…”
