Big data management

Abstract: In the past few years, an explosion of interest in big data has occurred from both academia and business communities. To reduce the uncertainty associated with some types of big data, organizations can adopt specific strategies inspired by service-dominant logic and value co-creation between organizations and customers. Specifically, alternating the extant body of literature and the results emerged from the case-study analysis of Mulino Bianco's 'Nel mulino che vorrei', this research illustrates how different … Show more

“…However, SCADA requires professional analysts that is able to analyze this K 52,9 large volume of data. Thus, big data management and analysis are major challenges in smart grid (Wilcox et al, 2019;Troisi et al, 2018a). The following are some challenges facing smart grids associated with big data.…”

“…Indeed, Xie et al [98] stated that "big data is transformed from resources into cooperative assets in value co-creation processes" (p. 1046). Moreover, Troisi et al [99] assumed that firms and consumers can co-create value by combining different information deriving from big data; the consumers' big data can be combined by firms on digital platforms and contribute to co-creating value using OI rules and features.…”

“…Indeed, without big data, there could be no conjunction between cyberspace and physical space made concrete by AI, and above all, IoT [94,95]. At the same time, it would not be possible to implement OI processes, and consequently value co-creation for firms and for society as a whole, without reliable data [99], which must be correctly collected, elaborated, and made available through the IoT.…”

“…Thus, the proliferation of big data and the speed of analytics are significantly disrupting many business models, considering the information as an asset that will transform business and operating models (Armenia et al, 2017;Ciasullo et al, 2018;Troisi et al, 2018). Big data movement offers many unique opportunities for organisations considered as complex systems such as by benefiting of knowledge discovery and management process, by exploiting big data techniques, cloud computing, and semantic web in order to offer a broader spectrum of pervasive knowledge acquisition to enrich users' experience in learning (Begoli and Horey, 2012).…”
