“…Furthermore, workers from our study seemed to be characterized in their work environment by activating Emotion Control processes, which refer to the ability to manage emotionality and anxiety appropriately [62]. The link between the two most central HSQ and BFQ nodes was positive, in line with previous findings [35,42,45]. Furthermore, network analysis highlighted that HSQ Self-defeating (excessively self-disparaging humor, characterized by attempts to amuse others at the cost of and disadvantage to the self) was the second-most-central humor style among the HSQ styles.…”

It was negatively associated with BFQ Emotion Control, in line with the literature [35,42,45]. This could suggest that the Self-enhancing humor style could be activated more often when Emotion Control is high.…”

“…With LPA, respective level on Big 5 domains can be evaluated as different types of personality profiles, making it possible to identify unobserved subgroups with distinct personality profiles and capture the nuances in it (Howard & Hoffman, 2018). Most studies that considered five‐factor model using LPA have identified three to five personality profiles (for review, see Yin et al., 2021), which allows the investigation into their impact on other variables of interest further (e.g., Kokkinos et al., 2023; Udayar et al., 2020). Therefore, we believe that adopting such a person‐oriented approach in understanding how personality profiles drives exercise of adults might contribute to ways of exercise intervention than focusing on one personality dimension at a time.…”
