Bilateral correction of asphyxiating thoracic dystrophy

Minimally invasive thoracic deformity surgery often requires the use of steel bars. After these bars are placed in the chest wall, they need to be firmly fixed. In the past, most of the fixation techniques needed special fixation plates. Although these methods have certain advantages, their disadvantages are more impressive. We have invented a technique specially used for steel bar fixation. This technique is simple, practical and easy to operate. We used it routinely in all kinds of thoracic deformity operations and achieved satisfactory results. In the past few years, we have carried out thoracic deformity surgeries in more than 300 hospitals in China, and this technique is adopted in all our operation. Because of the obvious advantages, it is unanimously recognized by the peers. It has become a popular technique in chest wall surgery circle. In order to better standardize the naming of this technique, we named it Wang technique. In this paper, the specific contents of this technique are introduced in detail through a case of Wung procedure on pectus excavatum.

Wenlin procedure for treatment of pectus carinatum

Pectus carinatum is a common thoracic deformity, and its treatment has a long history. The early operation was open operation. With the emergence of the concept of minimally invasive surgery in clinical practice, minimally invasive surgery of pectus carinatum has gradually become the mainstream in its treatment. The earliest minimally invasive operation was Abramson procedure. This kind of operation has certain effect, but it also has many disadvantages. In order to eliminate its disadvantages, we designed a new operation, Wenlin procedure. In essence, this operation is a template plastic surgery. Because of the special design, it has obvious advantages. So far, this operation has been widely used in China. Clinical experience shows that this operation is safe, simple and practical. However, like all other operations, this operation also has defects. In the future use process, its defects need to be continuously discovered and improved.

Wang procedure is a new method to treat pectus excavatum. Before this operation, there was almost only one choice for the treatment of pectus excavatum, which was Nuss procedure. Nuss procedure is a great operation. However, due to obvious defects, improvement is needed. Since general improvement cannot eliminate some deep-rooted defects, the only way to completely eliminate these defects is to design a brand-new technique. It is against this background that Wang procedure came into being. A large number of clinical practices have shown that this operation not only has many advantages that Nuss procedure does not have, but also can be used in a variety of depression and complex deformities. The appearance of Wang procedure has completely changed the concept of thoracic deformity correction and promoted the progress of technology.
