Abstract: Pulmonary enteric adenocarcinoma(PEAC) is a rare variant of pulmonary adenocarcinoma. We herein report FDG PET/CT findings of PEAC in a 76-year-old woman. The images showed widespread opacities in both lungs with intense FDG uptake. The pathology revealed pulmonary enteric adenocarcinoma.

Anti-MDA5 dermatomyositis is associated with an increased risk of developing rapidly progressive interstitial lung disease with a high mortality. We describe FDG PET/CT findings in a case of rapidly progressive noninfectious interstitial lung disease associated with anti-MDA5 dermatomyositis. The lung disease showed bilateral diffuse ground-glass opacities with diffuse heterogeneous FDG activity predominantly in middle and lower zones, mimicking infectious pneumonia. Familiarity with the imaging features of this rapidly progressive noninfectious interstitial lung disease can help to suggest the diagnosis and guide appropriate management.

Lung enteric-type adenocarcinoma (ETAC) is a rare subtype of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), comprising approximately 0.6% of all primary lung adenocarcinomas. It is characterized by a tendency for early metastasis and a prognosis comparable to that of common lung adenocarcinoma. This case report described a patient with lung-ETAC who developed gastric metastasis. The patient underwent treatment with chemotherapy and a PD-1 inhibitor, resulting in disease remission with a progression-free survival (PFS) of 8 months. The follow-up time was 13 months. This case report was aimed to enhance understanding of the biological behavior of this rare tumor and provide insights into potential future treatment strategies.
