Abstract:Stellate foveomacular retinoschisis is commonly associated with congenital X-linked retinoschisis, which is almost exclusively seen bilaterally in males. In the absence of a family history of retinoschisis and other related conditions, the term stellate nonhereditary idiopathic foveomacular retinoschisis (SNIFR) is used.
