Binary Nonlinear Joint Transform Correlator with Sinusoidal Iterative Filter in Spectrum Domain

Abstract: The joint transform correlator (JTC) has been the best known technique for pattern recognition and identification. This paper proposes a new technique of fringe adjustment by adopting a sinusoidal amplitude-modulated iterative filter convolved with an interference fringe pattern in the joint power spectrum (JPS) domain. The comparison of our new technique and other techniques is presented to show that the newly proposed technique can successfully improve both the correlation peaks and the peak signal-to-noise … Show more

“…The joint transform correlator (JTC) has shown remarkable achievements for real time pattern recognition and target tracking applications [8][9][10][11][12][13][14][15][16]. The introduction of color information in the pattern recognition has become increasingly important, especially because of the wide spread of electronic image-acquisition devices such as color CCD cameras.…”

“…These kinds of pattern recognition and target tracking applications can be achieved by the joint transform correlator (JTC) [8][9][10][11][12][13][14][15][16]. The introduction of color information in pattern recognition by the JTC is usually made by means of a multi-channel correlation technique that decomposes the source and the target color images into three red, green, and blue RGB channels.…”
