Abstract: Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) industrially used as flame retardants are nowadays considered emerging pollutants as they are endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs), persistent in the environment, bioaccumulative and in addition, its hydroxylated (OH-BDEs) and methoxylated (MeO-BDEs) metabolites have similar ecotoxic properties.
