“…Evidence of abrupt environmental change is captured in lake sediments dating back to the Pliocene , when surface Arctic temperatures may have exceeded modern values by as much as 198C (Ballantyne et al 2010;Csank et al 2011a,b). “…Acipenser persicus is a more commercially important fish species, especially along Iranian coasts, feeding mainly on other fish and benthic invertebrates such as crabs and mollusks (Mashroofeh et al, 2012). This species constitutes almost 80% of the sturgeon stocks in Iran and provides >50% of Iranian caviar (Mashroofeh et al, 2012; Moghim et al, 2006). Like other sturgeons of the Caspian Sea, A. persicus is listed as an endangered species by the International Union for Conservation of Nature.…”
