Abstract:In the present work, the synthesis of organic-inorganic hybrid (OIH) materials for biomedical applications is described. Two types of OIH systems are prepared by means of a sol-gel process, both consisting of a titania matrix. The use of two different biocompatible thermoplastic polymers as organic component is evaluated: the poly( -caprolactone) and the poly(ether-imide). The formation of the hybrid structure is ascertained by scanning electron microscopy, whereas the identification of the interactions betwee… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
