Naturally occurring phenolic compounds (PCs) exhibit potential biological efficiencies and have potential applications in the food and pharmaceutical industries. Poor water solubility along with some other factors limits the usage of PCs in different industrial sectors. The bio‐efficacy of PCs is also affected due to their low water solubilities. Suitable encapsulating systems are thus required to maximize the water solubility and hence enhance the efficacies of bioactive PCs. Liposomal encapsulation is a good option as reflected in numerous research works. In this review, we have discussed different conventional methods and modified methods utilized to prepare PC‐loaded liposomes and the ensuing effect of encapsulation on the stability and bio‐efficacies of PCs. The encapsulation efficiencies of different methods have also been discussed. A comparative assessment of different methods applied for liposomal encapsulation of PCs and their effectiveness in enhancing bio‐efficacy is the key feature of this review.

This study aimed at preparing chitosan nanoparticles (C.N.P.s) from fungal Chitosan for the purpose of producing nano-drug delivery systems for antifungal drugs. Chitosan was extracted from mycelia of Aspergillus niger using modified methods of George et al., (2011) and (Naghdi et al., 2014). For confirmation, the FTIR spectrum of the isolated Chitosan was compared with standard. A nanoformulation for Voriconazole antifungal drug was synthesized via ionic gelation method and characterized for their particle size, polydispersity index, surface charge, functional group composition using and Malvern Zeta Sizer ZS-90, P.C.S., FTIR, S.E.M. The prepared nanoformulation was also checked for its antifungal activity using Aspergillus niger and Aspergillus fumigatus as an indicator organism. Voriconazole showed maximum growth with no mycelial growth while CNPS showed minimum growth of about 70 percent, and Voriconazole loaded CNPS showed inhibitory growth effects on the mycelial growth of A. niger and A. fumigatus. Our results indicated that Chitosan Nanoparticles have huge potential against fungal diseases caused by Aspergillus species.

Mercury pollution in gold ore processing wastewater can cause environmental and health problems. A large amount of mercury pollution causes neurological disease, paralysis, loss of sense of taste, irregular speech, and death. One effective method to reduce mercury amount in the environment is adsorption. Adsorption performance is affected by several factors such as surface area of material, deacetylation degree (DD), and adsorption condition, which is indicated by contact time and mercury concentration. Nanochitosan is used in this research. Effect of deacetylation degree (85%; 87%; 95%), contact time (30;60;90;120 minutes), and variation of mercury concentration (5;10;15;20;25;30 ppm) on adsorption performance was investigated in this research. Nanochitosan in this research is characterized by FTIR, SEM-EDX, BET-BJH, and pH PZC. AAS measures adsorption performance in this research. The result shows that nanochitosan, which has the best adsorption performance, is nanochitosan with a deacetylation degree of 95%, at a contact time of 60 minutes, and mercury concentration is 15 ppm.
