Abstract:Protecting group-free chemoenzymatic and biocatalytic cascade synthesis of iminosugars from sugar aminopolyols has been achieved using Galactose oxidase F2 and chemical or enzymatic imine reduction. Putative iminosugar oxidoreductases were identified through genome mining, with several shikimate dehydrogenases (SDH) found to effect iminosugar formation. The SDH catalysed transformation is the first example of such activity on an iminosugar scaffold, and provides support for the reduction of iminosugar intermed… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
