Abstract: Hypertension has been recognized as an important cause of chronic kidney disease (CKD). As the most important part of the hypertensive patients are managed in primary care, implementation of routine early detection of CKD by determination of albuminuria and the estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) at this level is essential for diagnosis and prevention.
