Staubmann et al (1997) found that when using an anaerobic filter with Jatropha curcas seed cake as a substrate, 1 kg degraded COD yielded 248 l of CH 4 . Compared with the yield of 156 l/kg seed cake with batch mode in this study, CH 4 yield from banana stem waste (Kalia et al, 2000) and cotton oil cake (Isci and Demirer, 2007) were 196 l/kg and 78 l/kg of TS fed to the system, respectively.…”
