Biolabel‐led research pattern reveals serum profile in rats after treatment with Herba Lysimachiae: Combined analysis of metabonomics and proteomics

Abstract: In traditional Chinese medicine, Herba Lysimachiae (HL) is mainly used to treat rheumatic arthralgia. Current pharmacological studies also showed that HL has therapeutic potential for synovial diseases. HL is an oral drug, whose compounds need to enter the blood circulation before reaching the injured tissue, thus potentially causing activity or toxicity to the blood system. In this study, the biolabel‐led research pattern was used to analyze the serum profile after HL intervention, based on which the safety a… Show more

“…Meanwhile, proteomic profiling measures the changes in protein levels and reflects the regulation of gene expression, protein translation, and post-translational protein stability 122 . The toxicities of Herba Lysimachiae (Jinqiancao), which is usually used to treat rheumatic arthralgia, were analyzed by proteomic profiling 123 . With DARTs-based proteomics, the potential toxic target of psoralen, a major hepatotoxic and blood entry component in Fructus Psoraleae, was identified 124 .…”

“…Previous studies have shown that the biolabel‐led research pattern can avoid the limitation of disease models and quickly position the therapeutic potential, mechanism of action, and active compounds of herbs in physiological situations (Li et al, 2020; Li, Li, et al, 2021; Zhang, He, et al, 2021). Metabonomics, proteomics, and bioinformatics belong to systems pharmacology, which can be used to explore the biolabels of herbs (Li et al, 2017; Li et al, 2020; Li et al, 2022; Li, Li, et al, 2021; Zhang et al, 2017; Zhang, He, et al, 2021). In this study, omics, bioinformatics, molecular docking, and experimental validation were used to elucidate the hepatoprotective effects, mechanisms, and active compounds of SDG based on the biolabel‐led research pattern.…”
