Biological Baseline of Joint Self-Repair Procedures

Abstract: Gel-Repairer is a biomaterial composed of Polydeoxyribonucleotides (Pdrn), Heat Shock Proteins (Hsps) and a thickening substance. It works as a local mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) stimulator, finally generating connective tissue renewal. Our research is within the field of regenerative medicine and has historically built its foundation from the studies carried out on non-vital amnion and placental membranes. Our end point is the activation and stimulation of the local mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) for the stru… Show more

“…In Orthopaedics, omentum arthroplasty using omentum fragments or tiny patches to be allocated over the capsule bursa tissue may be considered to stimulate local MSCs and tissue recovery. Local stimulation of MSCs has already been proven effective to regenerate capsule bursa tissue and neo-cartilage formation in clinical research [116], [117], [118].…”

“…Since 2012 the author has published work on procedures whose core effect is stimulation of joint resident MSCs [34,35]. A study mentioned in the work aimed to show long-term symptom control through the recovery of local cell homeostasis and tissue repair.…”
