“…To the best of our knowledge, active voltage-gated Na + and Ca 2+ dependent Cl - channels have not been documented for DSM cells of any species, yet the prior model has incorporated these channels in order to simulate the action potential. Conversely, while experimental studies provide substantial evidence for the presence in DSM cells of intermediate conductance Ca 2+ -activated K + channels, ATP-dependent K + channels and inwardly-rectifying channels, these channels are not included in the model of Korogod et al, 2014 [ 37 ].
