A further successful year for Biometrical Journal passed with contributions covering a wide range of topics -addressing both traditionally discussed areas as well as newly sprouting ones. A key highlight of the Year 2005 was the concentration on discussion papers, intended to create a forum for discussion among distinguished experts and the author(s). Three such papers were printed in 2005. We also started implementing the concept of printing papers pertaining to a certain topic as a collection. This would help easier and comfortable reading of articles. Moreover, owing to the receipt and acceptance of many high quality papers, we have increased the total number of pages for volume 47 (Year 2005) by 100 from the previous year's quota of 800.The scientific success of any peer-reviewed journal depends entirely on the Editorial and the associated reviewing team. In this sense, Biometrical Journal has a very strong base of Associate Editors who have expertise in several areas of Biometry and Statistics and are well connected with young and dynamic referees as also with experienced experts. We would like to thank all our AEs and our referees for their continued support and enthusiasm.
