“…D. schlumbergeri differs from the Iranian Cenomanian D. sampoi by not having a special layer of the secondary chamberlets in the uppermost part of the supraembryonic zone and the lowermost part of subembryonic zone (Cherchi and Schroeder, 1990). Occurrence: D. schlumbergeri is widely distributed in the Tethys; it has been reported in Italy (Checconi et al, 2008), Portugal (Berhou andLauverjat, 1979), Slovenia (Koch et al, 1998), Spain (Ullastre and Masriera, 2006), the Vardar region, Macedonia (Polavder, 2003), Turkey (Farinacci and Yeniay, 1986;Tasli, 2006;Robertson, et al, 2013), Iran (Afghah et al, 2014), and Morocco (Ettachfini et al, 2005;Lézin et al, 2012). VSLPP in the Llanos del Carmen, Cerritos, Guadalcazar, and El Temazcal sections.…”

“…From a lithostratigraphic perspective, the dominant facies are marly limestone at Fars in the south Zagros Basin. Previous studies (Afghah et al, 2014) have recognized that orbitolinids were found in shallow‐water facies and planktons in deep‐water facies of Cenomanian strata of this region. Several previous works have demonstrated a relationship between orbitolinid distribution and shallow water carbonate systems (Husinec et al, 2000; Rahiminejad & Hassani, 2016; Vilas et al, 1995).…”

“…It was not recorded by Özkan and Altıner (2019) in their study of the Derdere Formation but was recorded by them from the base of the underlying Sabunsuyu Formation. Originally described from the Cenomanian of the Île de Madame, south-western France, this species was reviewed by Arnaud-Vanneau (1985), who noted that it has a long stratigraphic range (see also Schlagintweit, 2014) but occurs no younger than middle Cenomanian. It has widely been reported from across the Arabian Plate in both Early and mid-Cretaceous strata (e.g.…”

“…Originally described from Cenomanian strata in France, this species has a well-defined middle-late Cenomanian stratigraphic range within Tethys (De Castro, 1985;Velić, 2007). On the Arabian Plate the species has numerous records, including, for example, Banner et al (1991) from the Natih Formation of Oman (see also Simmons and Hart, 1987;Smith et al, 1990;Piuz et al, 2014) and from the Sarvak Formation of Iran (see also Cherchi and Schroeder, 1990;Rahimpour-Bonab et al, 2012;Afghah and Fadaei, 2015;Afghah et al, 2014;Assadi et al, 2016); Al-Dulaimy and Al-Sheikhly (2013) from the Mishrif Formation of southern Iraq; Sartorio and Venturini (1988) from Yemen; and Schulze et al (2004) from Jordan. The majority of these records are in keeping with a middle-late Cenomanian age calibration, although some records are possibly early Cenomanian.…”
