Abstract:It was tested whether bacteria immobilized on maize cob and corn husk might produce glutamic acid from cowpea waste. Glutamic acid synthesis was tested in bacteria isolates. Organic materials (corn cob and husk) were used as immobilization matrix and then used to produce glutamic acid. The effects of bead size, weight, and reusability were investigated.
