Bis(2-amino-5-chloropyridinium) dihydrogendiphosphate

Abstract: The title compound, 2C5H6ClN2+·H2P2O72−, contains infinite (H2P2O72−)n ribbons extending along the c direction. The bridging O atom of the diphosphate anion is located on a twofold axis. The organic cations are anchored between planes parallel to ac, linking the ribbons into a three‐dimensional network.

“…The theoretically determined structural parameters are generally similar to those observed for free ACP molecule 29 and its pyridinium salts. 30 (Table 3S). These differences follow from the presence of other hydrogen bonds not taken into account in the DFT calculations.…”

“…29 Bond lengths and angles can be regarded as normal and are comparable with values of other 2-amino-5-chloropyridinium compounds. 30,31 The pyridinium ring is essentially planar (the average deviation from least-square plane is 0.007Å) and also the Cl atom and the amino group are lying approximately in this plane, with a displacement of 0.061(4) and -0.009(5)Å for Cl and N2, respectively). The cations and anions form two-dimensional structure through a number of hydrogenbonding interactions involving the hydroxyl (OH), NH C and NH 2 amino groups as donors ( Fig.…”
