Blockchain-Based Key Management and Green Routing Scheme for Vehicular Named Data Networking

Abstract: Due to the distributed and dynamic characteristics of the Internet of Vehicles (IoV) and the continuous growth in the number of devices, content-centric decentralized vehicular named data networking (VNDN) has become more suitable for content-oriented applications in IoV. However, the existing centralized architecture is prone to the failure of single points, which results in trust problems in key verification between cross-domain nodes and consuming more power and reducing the lifetime. Focusing on secure key… Show more

“…erefore, we thought that idle resources in parking lots can be used as backup resources of MEC servers to help unload tasks [16,17]. As MEC server is located at the edge of the network and has strong computing capacity, it can solve the problem of limited computing resources of mobile vehicles to some extent, and it cannot process computation-intensive tasks with low delay and low energy consumption.…”

“…Recently, NDN has received a lot of attention in the research community. Some researchers attempt to optimize and modify routing in different network topologies such as Internet of Thing (IoT) networks, 15,16 software define networking (SDN) networks, [17][18][19] wireless networks, 20 vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs), 21,22 and mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs). 23 Others try to optimize routing by using different mechanisms such as bloom filtering (BF) 24 and congestion control.…”

“…(2) Alliance chain: in the alliance chain, some nodes have pre-selected permissions, which are usually enterprise to enterprise partnerships. The data recorded in the blockchain can be open or private, which can be regarded as partial decentralization, e.g., Hyperledger and r3cev [16][17][18][19]. (3) Private chain: in the private chain, nodes will be restricted.…”
