Blockchain‐based privacy‐preserving valet parking for self‐driving vehicles

Abstract: The valet parking provides convenience for users and thus is becoming increasingly popular nowadays. However, this valet parking service incurs the risks of location information leakage and vehicle theft. To address these issues, in this paper, we propose a blockchain‐based privacy‐preserving valet parking protocol (B‐park) for self‐driving vehicles. The protocol guarantees the privacy of users while providing transparency and auditability of the valet parking service. We define the system model of privacy‐pre… Show more

“…In [295], a scheduling approach for EV charging was proposed considering the battery capacity, the rate or behavior of charging and discharging operations, and the relative cost of charging. This mechanism could be extended to consider VOLUME 0, 2021 [299]- [302], [313]- [315] [115], [316]- [322] Data management [105], [159], [323]- [357] [358], [359] [105], [159], [323]- [348], [360]- [373] Communication and network [374]- [382] [135], [157], [158], [378], [383]- [414] [135], [157], [158], [383]- [406], [415]- [452] Payments [102], [107], [108], [453]- [455], [455]- [461] [104], [106] [102], [104], [106]- [108], [114], [453], [462], [463] other selection criteria, such as actual battery status, traffic congestion, and service delay. “…There are several works that deal with general security and privacy issues in smart cities and deal partially with parking services, such as Martínez-Ballesté, Pérez-Martínez & Solanas (2013) ; Al-Turjman & Malekloo (2019) ; Al-Turjman, Zahmatkesh & Shahroze (2019) and Navaroj & Julie (2021) . Further, privacy-preserving smart parking solutions and parking related problems in cities have been introduced in recent works such as Garra, Martínez & Sebé (2016) ; Chatzigiannakis, Vitaletti & Pyrgelis (2016) ; Huang et al (2018) ; Zhu et al (2018) ; Borges & Sebé (2019) ; Al Amiri et al (2019) ; Fang et al (2021) ; Dzurenda et al (2021) and Khalid et al (2021) .…”

“…The reservation time is around 1 ms at 1.2 GHz processor with 160-bits MNT curve and SHA-2. Similarly, Fang et al (2021) presented a blockchain-based privacy-preserving valet parking protocol. The solution is based on a new variant of Pointcheval-Sanders group signature, and it is secure in the random oracle model.…”

“…Gong et al 14 proposed a data privacy protection scheme based on bolckchain, which relieves the pressure of data storage on a centralized server, and protects the identity privacy of the data sender simultaneously. Fang et al 15 introduced a privacy protection protocol based on blockchain, which guarantees the privacy of the data users, and achieves the auditability and traceability of data simultaneously. However, the medical system store a large number of EHR in the block, which reduces the system's overall operating efficiency, and causes high computing overhead.…”
