Bluetooth Host Protocol Usage Over the Ultra Wideband Radio

Abstract: This paper presents an implementation example for placing Bluetooth (BT) host protocol over the WiMedia Ultra WideBand (UWB) Physical (PHY) and Medium Access Control (MAC) layers. The adaptation layer is operating below the Bluetooth Host Controller Interface (HCI), hence offering a host interface identical to Bluetooth towards the host. Some points have been identified for Bluetooth and WiMedia multimode operation, where further specification effort is needed.
