“…We have published an overview of some of these efforts [1,2]. We have also published details about modules in existing courses including Statics [3,4], Heat Transfer [5] and Robotics [6] in Mechanical Engineering, Circuits [7,8] in Electrical Engineering, Operations Research [9] in Industrial & Systems Engineering, and Introduction to Materials Science [10,11,12]. In addition, we have described courses on User-Centered Design (UCD), Engineering and Social Justice [13], and an elective on Engineering Peace [14,15,16,17].…”

“…However, the course could also expose students to engineers' potential impact on society, thereby introducing sociotechnical concepts for engineers to consider beyond the classroom. Researchers have suggested ways to introduce sociotechnical concepts specifically in EE related courses [1], [14], [15], [16].…”

“…Courses outside of the traditional EE curriculum also have the potential to introduce sociotechnical content [15], [16]. In a study of interdisciplinary engineering education, Hoople and Choi-Fitzpatrick [15] developed course materials for faculty to explore the intersection of drones and society.…”
