“…Based on this sound transmission mechanism, a new cartilage conduction hearing aid (CC-HA) has been commercialised and used in clinical practice in Japan since 2017. It was shown to be a safe and effective alternative hearing rehabilitation tool for patients with hearing loss, particularly those who cannot use conventional AC hearing aids due to outer ear obstructions or malformations (e.g., atresia and microtia) [ 13 ].
