Abstract:Background
Whether hip revision with a metaphyseal-fixation femoral stem component can restore the bone mass of the proximal femur remains unclear. The aims of this study were to identify whether the bone mineral density (BMD) of the proximal femur increases following hip revision with a metaphyseal-fixation femoral stem and to identify the factors associated with BMD recovery.
